like seven inches from the midday sun

I got nothin.  It's too damn hot. We're off to meet up with Dean's family (or parts of it, anyway) this weekend and next week it's supposed to be a little cooler.  Maybe I will have something to say by then.  Right now I'm too grumpy.

In the meantime, here are a couple of pictures to prove I went to Mt. Brown Lookout.  I am still recovering.

  1. Here the humidity is worse than the heat. So stifling I don't want to do anything but read.

    1. see, I knew someone out there would understand. We are blessed not to have too much humidity, but still--not much is air conditioned up here (and especially not our house) so temps in the 90s are just miserable. High of "only" 87 today! not too bad.

  2. I just hiked 4 miles in the NC mountains and am feeling it a bit, so my sympathies are entirely with you. Your mountains are very different than these, though!

    1. yeah, but a hike is a hike. Hope you had fun! Dean and MadMax are going on a father-son hike this weekend so I get the house to myself. I may just sit in front of a fan and read all weekend. :-)

there is no such thing as Global Warming, ah ha ha ha ha!

Take your time, we adore you so much that we don't mind the wait.
(Are you back yet? Lol, jk.)

    P.S.

    1. thanks, Julie. We got back Sunday afternoon but it is still bloody hot and I am also having one of my semi-annual crises where I don't feel competent to say anything in blog-land. So far (for almost ten years now) I've always recovered, so I will be back to plague you again soon!

    1. What??? You have TONS to blog about! move, new house, wedding, new son-in-law-- I am being patient because I remember the chaos of moving (it's only been a year and a half for us), but I hope you will fill us in soon, girlfriend! :-)
